Job Description

The University Scribe and Process Specialist is the primary subject matter expert for the degree audit and graduation planning systems. This role is responsible for the management of the university approved curriculum within the degree audit systems for all undergraduate programs, ensuring all degree audits are accurately coded and updated annually. Reporting directly to the Assistant Registrar, this position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the student record and providing a high standard of customer service. The Specialist will be responsible for functionally authorizing access to the student information (SIS) and degree audit systems (DAS) and will be the functional lead in the Registrar’s Office during bi-annual SIS and DAS security audits. The specialist will also be a representative alongside the University Registrar at various technical committees. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

This position is offered as 100% remote to Texas residents only with work hours of Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate.

Responsibilities:

40% Updates the degree audit system based on changes to undergraduate curriculum.

30% Assists with the evaluation of improvements and upgrades to the degree audit systems. Helps problem solve based on business process re-design, and improvements to better leverage functionality within the degree audit system.

20% Functionally authorizes SIS and DAS. Serves as the functional lead in the Registrar’s Office for SIS and DAS security audits.

5% Supports the Assistant Registrar by providing training to end users and assistance related to the degree audit systems.

5% Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience – Four years of related experience in a Registrar’s Office, Academic Advising, or Admissions Office. Able to work collaboratively within the department and with various stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, BCIS, or related field.

  • Experience with Degree Works scribe programming language, EduNav, process analysis, communication and organization, and functional project management of various sizes.

This position generally does not supervise employees.

Salary

The target base annual salary is $48,120 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
