The Terraria Calamity mod is a hefty modpack filled with various additions to the base game’s vanilla content. A New Terraria
Starting a new character in vanilla Terraria will give you a basic set of tools and other items. With the Calamity modpack installed, you’ll now begin the game with a Starter Bag. Opening it unloads various basic equipment and items, including a Copper Broadsword, Tin Bow, Topaz Staff, Spelunker Potions, Recall Potions, and more. For players who want an even more severe challenge, other difficulty options exist including Revengeance and Death Mode.Once you've settled on your difficulty, you'll begin on a story mode that is an entirely unique experience in Terraria, and that's only the beginning of the new content.

- Agent:A unique vendor that isn't actually a town NPC. Gives players random items based on their progress in the game so far.
- Arc:A Hardmode NPC who sells items like the Muramasa, Blue Moon, and Aqua Scepter.
- Archmage: A Hardmode NPC selling various items that can inflict the Glacial State debuff.
- Bandit: Sells items befitting for the Calamity mod’s new character class, the Rogue.
- Brimstone Witch: A post-Moon Lord NPC that can enchant a player’s items.
- Falconer:A quest NPC who will not actually be a town NPC, but rather spawns based on quest progress.
- General:A Hardmode NPC who sells holiday weapons and sentries.
- Sea King: Sells weapons, provides unique information, and gives a unique blessing that allows the player to breathe underwater temporarily.
- Sloome:A unique NPC vendor who sells Sloome-related items like the Sloome Plush and Sloome Totem as well as some potent crafting materials.
- Soul of the Eternal Intellect of Infinite Verboten Knowledge:A post-Moon Lord NPC who visits towns once a day that offers Indulgences.
- Starborn Princess:A post-Moon Lord NPC who can transmogrify and sells crafting materials like the Darksun Fragment.
- Void Man:A town NPC who acts as a combat companion when recruited by the player.
- Zeratros:A Hardmode NPC who sells loot items, Lunatic Cultist (Lore) and Moon Lord (Lore).
Rogue Class
Players can choose between four different character builds in vanilla Terraria: Melee, Magic, Ranged, and Summoner. With the Calamity mod, however, you can now also become a Rogue.As a Rogue in Terraria, you take advantage of stealth to deal damage and kill enemies. Rogue-specific armor sets will also grant you a Stealth Meter, which increases or decrease based on different parameters.At max stealth, the character becomes transparent to the point that the model is almost invisible. If the player is in full stealth, the character can use the Stealth Strike attack.
New Crafting Recipes
Many items in vanilla Terraria aren’t accessible other than killing enemies or getting lucky opening chests. Install Calamity mod, and many of these vanilla items become accessible through crafting as well.For example, before, you could only get the Cloud in a Bottle by opening gold chests underground. With the Calamity modpack installed, you can craft this item as well.
How To Download and Install the Terraria Calamity Mod
Installing the Calamity Mod in Terraria is a fairly straightforward process, and there are two ways to do it.The first way to download the Calamity Mod is via the Steam Workshop by following these steps:
- Search for Calamity Mod in the Steam Workshop to access both the Calamity Mod and Calamity Mod Music, then subscribe to both.
- Run tModLoader
- Click "Workshop", then navigate to "Manage Mods"
- Enable both of these mods in the menu
Players can also follow these steps to download and install this modpack via tModLoader instead:
- Download and install tModLoader
- Download the Calamity Mod
- Extract the downloaded files to your preferred folder
- Run Terraria and enable the Calamity Mod
- Click the Reload Mods button, and check if the modifications are now active
